New recognition pathways for Australian pharmacists The Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia SHPA is launching new pathways for Australian pharmacists and technicians, filling a key gap in professional recognition as practitioners advance through their careers and grow into an increasing number of leading and specialty roles. ‘New recognition pathways for Australian pharmacists’ details how Australian pharmacists can access new portfolio-building capability, build their evidence library, submit for recognition and export their professional history for a variety of uses. |

2026 – the year when all pharmacists who qualify in Great Britain will be independent prescribers Royal Pharmaceutical Society (Great Britain) This session will share knowledge of change across the UK for pharmacists. This is different to changes happening in pharmacist prescribing in other countries. In the UK every newly qualified pharmacist will be a prescriber from 2026. We will explore the readiness of the profession, employers, academics and people who are in training currently to this imminent change. Delegates will learn how the UK got to this point with prescribing pharmacists and how they could emulate in their own country.
