Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points

FIP Congress attendees who are members of the following organisations may be able to receive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points following attendance at the FIP congress sessions from their respective organisation.

The African Pharmaceutical Forum will award CPD credits for the FIP Congress in Brisbane, Australia, 2023. The CPD points will be awarded in accordance with the internal rulebook.

In Spain, attending the FIP congress, as any other pharmaceutical congress (organised by an official pharmacy organization at national or international level) is considered a continuing professional development or “continuing education” (CPD) activity. We are delighted to announce that delegates from the Egyptian Foundation of Clinical Pharmacy (EFCP) will have the opportunity to earn CPD points for the sessions they attend at the FIP Congress. The 81st International FIP Congress is recognised as a valid form of continuing education by the Lebanese Order of Pharmacists (OPL). Therefore, we are pleased to inform all OPL members that the CE Committee will award 1.5 points per 90-minute session to those attending the FIP Congress in Brisbane, Australia. Those who wish to receive CE credits separately for each session must record the verification codes during each session and report their session attendance via the Congress website. Attendees may submit the Certificate of Attendance to the OPL to ensure that the points will count toward their CPE.

PSA member pharmacists - self-recording Group 1 CPD points when attending sessions at the FIP congress. 

Sessions at the FIP World Congress can be self-recorded for Group 1 CPD credits to meet the Pharmacy Board of Australia’s annual CPD requirements for renewal of registration. Australian registered pharmacists are required to complete 40 CPD credits for the 12-month CPD period ending 30 September each year.

Attendees can self-record individual session attendance at FIP Brisbane 2023, the 81st FIP World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences for inclusion in an individual pharmacist’s CPD record.
To record your session attendance, follow the below process:
– Record the type of learning undertaken during the session, for example
– Record the title and duration of the session you have attended
– Listen to a presentation, lecture or plenary (Group 1 CPD activity)
– Attend a workshop or similar in (Group 2 CPD activity)
– Calculate the number of CPD credits that can be self-recorded
– Group 1 CPD activity: number of credits = duration of session
– Group 2 CPD activity: number of credits = 2 x duration of session
– List the main learning objectives and/or areas covered in the session you have attended
– Determine the applicable enabling competencies from the National Competency Standards of pharmacists in Australia, 2016 for the session
– Reflect on how attendance at this session has impacted on your practice
– For Group 2 CPD activities: provide evidence of how you interacted in the session, e.g., copy of worksheet
– Save your certificate of attendance from the session (issued by FIP) as evidence of attendance in your CPD Record
