Introduction

In an era defined by global health challenges, the role of pharmacists has never been more crucial. This session focuses on the World Pharmacists Day theme of Pharmacists strengthening health systems. We will explore the significant contributions that pharmacists make towards Universal Health Coverage, preventative healthcare and patient care, and discuss how to prepare for future pandemics. From public health concerns to the rapid development of COVID vaccines, we will delve into real-world examples of pharmacists driving improvements in health systems and consider the investment and resources necessary to further empower the workforce.
